It will NOT keep your medication as cold as a refrigerator. It will keep your medication cool (not cold) and safely between 64.4F and 78.8F for a MINIMUM of 45 hours in temperatures of 100F. All insulin (including pet insulin) can travel at or below room temperature for a period of time. The length of time that your medication can be kept safely inside of an activated FRIO® can be found in section 16 of your medication's FULL PRESCRIBING INFORMATION. This is called the allowable excursion temperature. If the excursion temperature is not listed on the FULL PRESCRIBING INFORMATION, phone the manufacturer and ask how long the medication can travel at room temperature (and safely inside of an activated FRIO®). This information usually accompanies your prescription or, can be located on the manufacturer's website. **Q: Was thinking I wanted one but after reading the reviews is there a better product? I use pens and vials.** A: The Large will work for up to 4 pens and 6-8 vials (inner dimensions are 5 1/2 x 7"). If you wish to carry either 2 pens or 2 vials, the DUO is the size for you (inner dimensions 3.5" x 7"). The Extra Large will hold up to 8 pens or 10-12 vials (inner dimensions 8.5" x 6.5"). The size your choose depends on what you wish to bring with you. If you're not sure, make a paper template in the dimensions listed above. Lay the items you want to carry and see which size is best. Be sure to leave about a 1/4" border between the items you place and the end of the paper template to allow for activation swelling of the wallet. There is not a better product to keep your insulin cool and safe - especially with the convenience that the FRIO allows. We use ours every day. It's perfect for emergency preparedness too. We love the FRIO! **Q: What are the dimensions of a large bag?** A: FRIO set is composed of 2 bags: an inner bag of 5-1/2" x 7-3/4", wich must be wet to activate the refrigerant in it, and an external pouch of 6" x 8-1/4", that is used to carry the refrigerated bag **Q: Does this inner bag large enough for small bottles of pills and medications? I don't use insulin but will be in an extremely hot climate.** A: The inner dimensions are listed on each wallet. For the Large (pictured) the inner active chamber is 5.5" x 7". Make a paper template to those measurements and lay the supplies you wish to carry inside onto the template. Allow at least 1/4" for the activation of the wallet. That will help you decide if that will work for you. The only question is with regard to the diameter of the bottle. Depending on the the wallet you choose - you will be able to carry the items you desire. (if the bottles are bigger, start with the Large or Extra Large.
