Great for vocabulary building and observation as well as fine motor skills’ development.I bought it for my 18 month-old grandson who, at first, was happy just to identify the right pairs of animals and make the relevant noises.However, the pieces and the interlocks are a good size, and perfect for small hands, so it wasn’t long before he was fitting them together with hardly any help.Once he’d mastered the farm animal puzzles, we mixed them together with the jungle animals pack to make things a bit more challenging.We’ve had both packs for a year now, and they have been heavily used - now also by a younger sibling - but are still in excellent condition thanks to the heavy duty cardboard used.Thanks for reading my review. At one stage he grabbed the box and took a very close look at the clearly shown vehicles, seemingly to gauge what they should look like once he'd fitted the pieces. We talked of matching colours, sizes of wheels, basics of what differing vehicles where for.This multi piece jigsaw(s) grabbed his attention better rather than the 2 piece jigsaw which we bought as well.Only down side was he opening the box, pushed down the lid, which would eventually break it. Excellent for vocabulary building and sorting, as well, of course, as developing fine motor skills.My little grandson was quite happy at 18 months to simply identify all the pairs and then have help putting them together. It wasn’t long, however, before he was able to do that himself, as the pieces and the interlocks are a good size for small hands.He lost interest for a while once he’d mastered the puzzles, but now a year older enjoys instructing his little brother (16 months).
