Review: I've used oilstones, waterstones, Arkansas stones, diamond stones, India stones, etc throughout my life, but the Shapton stones outshine them all. They're ceramic with even, precisely controlled grits. When sharpening, I can see the steel coming off the knife and hear as well as see if my angle is correct. They cut fast and are an immense pleasure to use. I took to them immediately because it was a wholly new sharpening experience for me.
