Had the in ground flood stake to light up specimen tree. Now it can light up while aimed at trespassers paths. Great value to get for any exterior flood lamp socket. Easy to install, as it's the same flood lamp socket size. Do not know yet about it's durability = holding up to seasonal and environmental elements. It's a total compatible to normal flood lamps. Perfect product that isn't in home box stores. They work perfectly. Meaning that they turn on after dark when sensing motion. The instructions to have them "always on" are confusing, so here's a clarification: flip them off and on again quickly - but only after dark - because the lights seem to "recognize" that it's dark out and stay on. That flick of a switch will not work during the daylight. Even though my indoor garage light goes on with door opener, i like that these light up first, giving me plenty of light at night. The motion sensor is sensitive enough to recognize my dog walking underneath them and he's a little tiny 12 pounder! I asked clarification on Amazon website and was reassured that no washer would be needed to prevent water leakage.; since the socket the bulb screws into there is little risk of water getting in as 90% of sockets for security lamps point downward or sideways'.
