I purchased the car brand new and did my first brake job on it roughly a year and a half ago. I was recommended an incorrect brake grease by a coworker (funny because I work in the automotive industry, specifically repairs), and had noticed something was up with my brakes after that job. This was also my first Toyota, and after reading on the forums I had learned the grease I used wasn't compatible with the rubber bushings used on Toyota slide pins. Toyota uses a "lithium soap grease", traditional grease will make the rubber swell. This specific grease was recommended on the forums, as it's compatible with EPDM and nitrile. As I dug into this regrease job, I found the rubber did swell. The slide pins were seizing up. I replaced the rubber bushings and boots, regreased. Took it out for a test drive and feels like brand new! I would definitely recommend this grease, worked great on my Toyota. DON'T put on too much. No lubricant will last forever but I have found this product to be the best for brake parts that require a little lubrication. **Q: Is this good to put on rubber parts, slider pins, clips and boots?** A: Yes, this is a silicone based material that plays nice with rubber parts. It is very thick though so I use a product called Haynes Lubri-Film just on the slider pins. I use the CRC on the brake hardware and caliper pistons. Once the CRC runs out though, I won't use it again because the tube delivery is just too much of a pain. **Q: Can someone please post a picture of what the paste looks like? is it purple? is it like vaseline? is it like dish soap?** A: It's a white sticky paste. **Q: How is this product compared to Permatex Silicone Extreme?** A: On paper they are identical. Sealed so you will need a cutter to cut open the tip. Has a consistent smooth texture, not too thick or talky. Did both front and rear pad slap and caliper pin cleaning. Used up about 1/3 of the big tube. Love the ease of use and ability to lube up my brakes. After 100 miles of driving so far, I have zero noise and issues from this product.
