She also explained that these hats are made by sewers and not machines so there can be a small margin of error in the sizing, but typically the standard size is 22-23 inches and the XL size is 24-25 inches and they do stretch little over time. I measured the original and sent her a picture comparing the two. I ended up returning the original hat and purchased from her site directly. There are also other items for sale on her website. There is still a little adjustment to the new hat, but overall, my daughter is very pleased to have a second one available when she needs it.
