The heavy-duty pre-assembled valve manifold is a fully engineered and assembled single or multi-zone valve system which provides optimum serviceability. The pre-assembled manifold has special swivel unions which create a secure, watertight seal against each manifold component and the valves. If you ever need to add a valve or replace a valve, the procedure is as simple as unthreading the swivel, sliding it back, and adding or replacing the valve. The process of adding a drip filter and pressure regulator is equally simple. The valves are premium L-Series valves with internal-bleed, 24 VAC solenoids which are compatible with controllers from Orbit, Hydro-Rain, and other major brands. So I decided to build myself. And with this manifold, it is practically built. I used six valves but you can extend it even further. Because everything screws together, it was easy to assemble. I used plumber's tape on the threads just to ensure they didn't leak.PRO TIP: Make sure your setup satisfies code compliance. The valves need to be a certain height from the irrigation line and you must ensure no contaminated water flows back into the source. I installed a UPC® Certified 1" Brass Pressure Vacuum Breaker to the manifold which is also compliant with the ASSE 1020-2020 standard. The benefit of using a separate pressure vacuum (as opposed to using valves that have them built in) is that is can be tested and certified that is is working. I used threaded 1" PVC couplings to attach to the manifold so I can remove if I have to.This is an easy weekend job -- even with multiple trips to the hardware store to get PVC fittings.
