My problem was the remaining glue after the stickers were removed. It's not really a problem if you know how to remove it. I keep a roll of duct tape in the garage. It's handy for lots of projects. In this case, cut a piece about 6" or so long and press the sticky side on the glue residue on the cane and remove it quickly. The glue on the duct tape is stronger than the glue on the cane. Just continue the pressing and quickly removing, until it is all removed. This technique works on every label I've ever tried it on and there are no chemicals involved. **Q: Will it bend ?** A: no, will not bend **Q: does this cane fit in overhead compartment on a plane?** A: I would first check with airlines usually crutches etc. are stored in the front by the flight attendant. It can be made smaller for sure but I don't know if it would quite fit in the overhead compartment. I don't think they would allow for the possibility of it falling out when someone opens it. The height adjusts well, he likes the shape of the cane, and finds that the thick handle is easy on his hands, which are not particularly large.
