Let us know if you need any other info! **Q: We have a patio in mostly sunny conditions; Would this hold up if it is on a patio with some (not much) exposure to moisture?** A: This cat tree is made of unfinished birch plywood. I keep ours indoors because plywood doesn't do well with moisture. I think that it would do well outdoors with a finish. **Q: Can you replace the carpet easily?** A: Hi Enrico, The carpet is glued in and not intended to be replaced. That said, it is very durable and over the past 6 years of selling this cat tree, we've only had 2 - 3 requests to replace carpet. We are working on a version that has replaceable carpet, more to be able to offer different colors/styles that anything. We're looking for a chemical-free product.** A: The carpet is low-pile common indoor/outdoor carpet and we use "Titebond" wood glue to secure it, which is pretty benign compared to contact cement, carpet glue, etc. Thanks! -Brian ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful & high quality cat furniture, just as stable as other cat trees *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2013* I decided to purchase this cat tree, despite some of the reviews indicating that it was a little shaky. Now that my tree is assembled, I don't quite know why the other reviewers were unhappy with its stability. I have a Refined Feline Lotus Tree, and (unfortunately) one of those widely available & ugly carpeted cat condos, and this Contoure Tower doesn't shake or wobble anymore than my others. Yes, when my 15 lb fat cat jumps up to the top, it shakes a little, but no more so than my other cat furniture, so I'm not sure if the other customers haven't had cat trees before? The only reason I can fathom that other people may have had a problem is that when assembling the pieces together, you're not supposed to screw everything together tightly UNTIL all parts are connected (then the screws can be tightened fully), so I can imagine that if someone did not do that, the connecting joints may have been loosened when trying to put everything together.Overall, I'm glad I trusted my instincts and purchased this tower. My cats love the views it gives them, and it's modern simplicity goes with my decor, so I am very happy with this piece of furniture. And it was important that the cats be able to be taller than me when sitting on it. This fits the bill.It was really easy to assemble, although I did have to go back and mark some of the guide holes for the screws that didn't quite go all the way through. It's not at all shaky, not sure where that criticism comes from. I did manage to break off one of the feet, and until I fixed that it was unstable, but that's hardly the product's fault -- I should have gotten a second person to help move it around after taking it to the garage to stain the wood.And that ties into the reason this isn't a 5-star review. The picture shows a nicely finished product, but the item is, as the description says, unfinished. It really needs to be stained and varnished in order to look as nice as I wanted. No surprise, it was billed as unfinished. However, it's really hard to stain the wood around the carpet and not get stain on the carpet itself. I tried taping and covering it with plastic wrap, with moderate success, but it was really a pain. I adopted a small Persian cat from the shelter who is a little terror with scratching everything in her path. She has managed to claw through the glued on carpet down into the wood shelf. Yes, I trim her nails but it doesn't stop the damage. I've reached out to the company dozens of times to inquire about buying replacement shelves for their cat trees. I was promised once they would reach out to me but they never did. If you have a cat who loves to scratch, buy the shelves without carpet and velcro cheap carpet to the shelves that you can replace.
