## Overview

The Petmate Brandon McMillan Lure Stick is a professional-grade, retractable dog training tool designed to stop leash pulling through positive, force-free redirection. ## Description

Get your dog to focus on you...not them! The Lure Stick, recommended by professional trainer Brandon McMillan in his book "Lucky Dog Lessons: Train your Dog in 7 Days" is a treat reward and redirecting training tool. Teach your dog to stop pulling on the leash with 100% force-free training. Positively redirect your dog's attention back to you when they aggressively lunge at other dogs while on a leash. Extending 31 inches, you're able to train and reward your small dog without having to crouch or bend down. The retractable design and attached belt clip allow you to keep the Lure Stick on you for convenience. The patented clip allows you put your dog's favorited treat inside while the soft springs hold it light enough so your best friend can easily take the treat out. Train with ease like the professionals does with the comfortable, compact, force-free training tool.

Review: Helpful but not durable - It lasted me 2 days when my dog munches the entire beak and the beak popped off. The entire device is strong and handy but not durable at the beak. With a moderate chew grab itself the beak broke off. A suggestion for you make the beak a bit more durable.
Review: Bad quality..don't recommend anyone to buy it - Bad quality...got damage from the top after one day.. couldn't use it anymore..I feel like I just wasted my money..

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I just received this product and the snap the clip makes after the treat is pulled by the dog scares my dog. Any suggestions?**
A: One of my dogs did that too. I trained him to think the snap meant treat. Stand with your dog, snap the clip, treat your dog. Keep doing that until he doesn't
cringe. Then create a little distance, snap it and he should come to you. It's like training them with a clicker.

**Q: Just opened lure stick clip that holds treat came off in my hand. it won’t stay on. what kind of glue should i use to try to fix it? i don’t want t**
A: You might try some gorilla glue, but honestly I would send it back and ask for a replacement. I have not experienced any trouble with mine, so it may just be a faulty one you happed to receive. Hope this was helpful

**Q: Do you think it is sturdy enough to attach a string with a toy on it - to keep the puppy off my ankles and to make it chase it? Kinda fishing rod look**
A: There is a great training tip to keep your puppy off your ankles. When your puppy begins to nip your ankles as you're walking, using a gentle sweeping motion, swipe your foot backwards and across your puppy's muzzle. You should not be trying to hit or hurt your puppy with your foot, merely giving it negative feedback for his behavior. Don't bend down or say anything when your puppy exhibits this behavior (or, instead of silence, make short, high-pitched sound--eh, eh). Nipping at your ankles is your puppy's sign that he wants to play (it's what he does when he wants to play with his littermates). If you bend down and pet your puppy when he is doing this, you're doing exactly what he wants, only encouraging him to continue this behavior. However, give your puppy plenty of playtime (but not immediately after he is doing something he shouldn't be doing). A tired out puppy is a good puppy! Throw a ball, play with him using a "squeaky" toy, have him chase a laser light (but make sure you don't shine the laser in his eyes). Hope this helps!

**Q: I have a little dog. what size treats have you used with this device? i'd like to use small treats for training (like small kibble size).**
A: Just use a chuck it made for throwing balls. It’s the perfect treat delivery system for working with little dogs! No parts to break, no scary sound, fits anything!

Brandon is an amazing dog trainer, bought the product after watching his master class. Great for small dogs or puppies so you don't break you back training them. Also good if you have a nippy dog who takes your fingers along with the treat.
