Surprisingly enough, I bought a 1015A 0.5 mm Pentel from Amazon prime themselves (expecting the one from the photo) and they sent me the 1015 model with the hinges. While some may say it is the difference between the Japanese model and the American model, I beg to differ; after reviewing multiple videos on youtube on the graphgear 1000 I noticed that most of the videos containing just the 1015 were before 2012. Not a single one of the uploaders had the 1015A model. **Q: Is this pencil made of metal, like the other one here on Amazon?** A: This pencil is made of aluminum.It does not have production in the Amazon.Company called Pentel of Japan has produced. **Q: Does this come with the eraser refills and the black eraser block or is it just the pencil?** A: It just comes with the pencil unfortunately **Q: i got one as gift with no directions. i don't know how to put the lead in or make it work. would you please demo show me?** A: Hi, for most of Pentel's pencils including the Graph Gear, just remove the cap and eraser to expose lead tube.
