Still trying to make my way through it, but if you really want to understand electronics, other than going to a college and taking courses, this is probably on of the best ways to learn, and you always have a handy reference manual. It covers the basics (as a refresher or a primer depending on your experience). It is useful to novices entering the field BUT ALSO for veterans wanting a bigger picture (I'm in the latter category). What is so impressive about this text is how incredibly approachable Darren makes it - he foregoes the endless references to a far-off bibliography, writes to the user, and annotates with ample (often humorous) footnotes. He manages to take difficult topics (such as Thevenin's Theorem) and break them down into digestible elements - synthesising the complex into the simple(r). And like a true engineer, he starts at chapter 0.
