## Description

Product Description Bare Conductive Electric Paint is a multipurpose electrically conductive material ideal prototyping tool for makers of all ages and levels of expertise. This unique child-friendly material is designed for people of all ages to explore and learn about electronics with an inclusive, easy-to-use material. Bare Paint provides a dramatically different method of interacting with electronics as it can be applied to almost any surface, including cardboard, paper, wood, wallpaper, walls, textiles, and some plastics. Bare paint can be used to replace conventional acid etching, making it a great electronics prototyping tool. Nontoxic and water-soluble, Bare Paint can be used without gloves or mask. The paint dries quickly at room temperature, and can be removed with soap and water. This means it's also not water-proof or weather-resistant. Application methods include painting, screen printing and spray painting among others. Despite being called "Bare" conductive, it's meant not for use on bare skin. Works with electrical components, prototyping materials, PCBs, microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, MaKey MaKey, LilyPad, FLORA), e-textiles, and conductive thread. Volume: 10 ml. Set Contains: 1x 10 ml Electric Paint Pen

Review: This product works as advertised. It may not be the best solution for repairing a remote control, but you can certainly improve it. Here are the steps: 1. Open your remote control (watch a youtube if you have difficulty opening on your own) 2. Separate the rubber keypad from the circuit board. 3. Clean the circuit board and rubber keypad with rubbing alcohol using a paper towel or qtip. 4. Shine a bright light on both parts to ensure you have thoroughly removed all oils and debris. 5. Very carefully, put a small dab of the paint on each key. (you can use the tip to spread it thin or use a toothpick). 6. Once you have evenly spread the paint, let it dry (approx 1 hour or use a blow dryer on low speed for 15 mins). 7. Use the back of a toothpick or some small flat tool to carefully tap on each key to further flatten the paint. 8. Verify its not flaking off. If it comes off, repeat the steps to add more paint. 9. Let it dry again for another 15 mins. 10. Slowly put everything back together. testing: If you're remote fails the first time, it means there is a short with some small paint that stuck to the circuit board. You'll have to reopen and clean the affected parts and repeat paint steps. If it works, then don't slam on the keys. Just take it easy and it may last. If it causes trouble again, then repeat all steps. One suggestion would be that if you can work quickly, then maybe use super glue on the keys first before adding the paint. I haven't tried it, but it might hold better. Glue stick doesn't work well, and with no glue, the paint does not bond well with silicon rubber keys. For the folks that just need conductive paint, this paint works just fine for low voltage projects. Great value.
Review: Very good

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do you get the paint to stick to silicone pads? After a week or so the paint starts peeling off and sticking to the board creating a short circuit**
A: First apply a film of super glue to the key pads, then use this paint. Repaired many remotes with this paint but won't adhere to the rubber/silicone directly.

**Q: This seems to have left black splotches in my porcelain sink. I cannot get them out with any solvent or granite cleaner. How should I approach this?**
A: I believe the product contains graphite(lead) as the conductive. I've read where a 50/50 mix of vinegar/peroxide will dissolve lead. The problem with that may be that the solution may react with what's beneath the porcelain. Test in an inconspicuous spot.

**Q: Will this work on fabric to connect led lights?**
A: It's water soluble, so your fabric can never be washed if you want to keep it there.

**Q: How flexible is this when dried?**
A: I am not completely sure exactly what you are asking, but I have pasted from our website the detail information. Thank you! Blend design and technology while drawing a "liquid wire" circuit. Nontoxic water-soluble paint provides a new way to engage in electronics. Paint dries at room temperature and is suitable as a cold solder. Teach resistance, circuitry, polarity, or voltage in a fun, creative way. Works with electrical components, prototyping materials, PCBs, microcontrollers, e-textiles, and conductive thread. Includes application and storing instructions, but no lab activities. Pen contains 10 mL of paint.
