Slow cooker baking works! Great cook book!I like the 5 pages of tips and hints to be successful baking in a slow cooker. Cakes some out great! I baked the Spicy Chocolate Pumpkin Cake on page 101, and it came out wonderful. Moist and dense like Brownies. I baked it 2 hours in my 6 quart oval slow cooker. Just read all the hints and tips and check the progress of your cake.I took the inch thick book to an office shop and had it spiral bound so it lays flat on my counter. I've baked potatoes, wrapping them in foil and leaving them all day or over night but not real actual BAKING. The book doesn't disappoint. I'm tempted to go buy a much bigger cooker than the one I have. And her equivalency charts in the index are alone worth the price. I love outside the U.S. and am forever juggling conversions. Just starting to cook, jump right in. The recipes are well written and easy to follow. many only require a bowl and a spoon or whisk. The ingredients for the most part are what you have in your pantry. If not, they are obtainable anywhere. I have done some cooking in the slow cooker but didn't think to make pies, pizza, etc.I like the idea that most of the recipes in the front of the book only make 4 servings. With only 2 of us most recipes make much to much for us to finish. All recipes should be easy to prepare.
