SperryMen's Striper Ii Cvo

Purchased the Men's Striper Li Core Sw Grey in 10.5 (and several other colors and types from the Sperry store) back on Oct 2020 for my husband for Christmas. (I like to shop early for the family.) They looked great on him and he loved the shoes, but after very occasional use of this specific color, over the next couple of months, they started to make a squeaky noise as he walked. This was the only pair that did this and we've never had issues before with any Sperry in the past 20 years he's been buying them. So, it's a bit disheartening when a $60 pair of shoes start sounding like the cheap, poorly made pair of $20 tennis shoes. I know during COVID, prices have gone up and quality is declining in many products, but was this just a random lemon, or is this indicative of issues that may occur more often with a brand that's typically of higher quality? Ordinarily, you can't return or exchange shoes that have been worn and develop issues after several months. So, now, I actually am worried about the quality of the next pair we purchase - and Sperry's are the only casual shoes my husband wears.

Great looking Sperry Men's Top sider tennis shoe. The quality is exceptional. These shoes were manufactured to be worn and last. My son really likes them and says they're remarkably comfortable. I have no regrets and thebpricing is excellent.

I've always loved the classic look of these particular Sperrys and the ease in cleaning them. Just toss them in the wash with a capful of bleach, sun dry, and you're good to go. I wear a size 14 B (my feet aren't wide) and normally wear these with no-show socks though sometimes without. Either way, there is quite a bit of room in the toe area than I'm not used to with my other nice fitting shoes. It almost feels like I could have gone down a size. With as much confusion there is on the fit of Sperrys, I highly suggest at least trying the pair locally before ordering, or ordering from vendors that allow returns for fitting.

I received these shoes on March 5, 2020, I loved them instantly until today. The piece of elastic going through the tongue that is sewn to each side of the shoe, on my right shoe, came off the side on the shoe. I am very disappointed, i used to think sperry was a high quality shoe.

Being my first pair of Sperry’s, I was wowed by how comfortable they were!!! Provides great support to my feet that I haven’t felt in shoes before.However, after wearing them for only a few hours I discovered that the insole of the right shoe is already falling apart. I’m disappointed to see this wear already from only a 4 hours of use, so I’m not very optimistic about how long they’ll last.

Ever since i ordered for a friend of mine from Fair Oaks, CA named Nancy via Amazon.com these two fabulous pairs – khaki and navy – of the Sperry 'Striper II Varsity' Gilligan-esque canvas sneakers slightly more than one year ago for her sixty-sixth birthday, she is still ecstatic over the receipt of these sneakers. Of course, i am alluding to the 1960's-era television sitcom "GILLIGAN'S ISLAND." Nancy's birthday is 01 August. FYI, Nancy is the president of the Greater Sacramento area chapter of a non-profit autism advocacy organization and is the mother of a twenty-eight year-old autistic lad name Chris. Not to mention a proud grandmother of thirty-two month-old Sophia Grace and now two month-old Benjamin Scott (through her eldest son named Scott). From 1972 to 1976, Nancy attended Mount Holyoke College in western Massachusetts. Like Albert, Nancy has always dug the nautically-inspired 'preppy' look that is so reminiscent of Michigan. Nancy has indicated to me that: '[T]hese shoes were made for [her]. They have all the things [she] likes about shoes of that style. Now all [she] needs is a place to go where [she] can show them off.'

Buyer beware!!! My fourth pair of these, so obviously love them. However - this pair are either fake or the quality has plummeted. It’s a little hard to tell in the pic but it’s very clear in real life. The fabric is separating around the toes. A thin layer has come off the outer layers and so there strange looking ripples across the front of the shoe. I suspect the did not use canvas but rather some cheap substitute and “veneered” a thin layer of canvas looking stuff on top. So at first it looks great but after one or two wears it starts to fall apart. Do not buy these! My confidence in Amazon is plummeting. Seems fakes and knock offs are rampant. Will only go to Sperry store from this point forward (and same for other branded products).

Nice looking shoes, but be warned if you buy the "Red Washable" version! The insides are colored red also, and the red dye is not very colorfast - it bleeds onto my socks. This is the second variety of Sperry shoes I've found with this issue, so I will probably be avoiding Sperry in the future. I don't have this issue with other shoe brands.
