This splendid retrospective, released to celebrate the anniversary of Piazzolla's death, features original recordings made by the master himself spanning from 1945 to 1961.

初期のピアソラが関わった曲が収められたCDです。ピアソラ編曲のタンゴの定番曲でもピアソラ節が大いに出ています。むしろ編曲作品こそピアソラの良さが際立っているように感じます。その他にも、8重奏や9重奏、初期5重奏などあまり聞く機会のない自作曲も多く飽きません。様々な編成の曲が多数収められていますが、後期5重奏ではあまり聞くことのない作品が多いので後期5重奏を聞いてピアソラを好きになった方には大変おすすめです。昔の録音なので音が悪いものも多いですが、ノスタルジックで良いかも。好きずきだと思います。私はこれもありだと思う。
