GREAT FUN FOR THE PRICE
This game is really a lot of fun once you practice a bit and get a feel for it. The tee and fairway shots are pretty much in alignment with how you pull back and push the roller ball forward. You can even hook or pull your shots as required. Putting is difficult, but with practice becomes more manageable and I agree with some other reviews that there are times when you are too far from the hole to make the putT even if you hit it as hard as you can. Where you need to really be careful is with chipping using the SW or PW. I recommend you only push forward and very gently on the roller ball - otherwise you launch your ball over the green constantly. It also has backspin or foward spin options. It was frustrating at first, but once you figure out the games little intricacies, it can be fun for all ages. Highly recommend you play the skins game b/c everyone has a bad hole eventually and this keeps the games fun. It also has a stroke limit that is a great way to keep the younger ones in the game. GET THIS GAME!

As close as you can get to the real thing
I was skeptical when purchasing this product. With Golden Tee arcade games going for upwards of $3K, an investment of $15 seemed worth a shot. IT WAS! The game only has three courses, but it doesn't really seem repetitive if you rotate through them frequently and/or play with friends. The graphics are a little bit lacking and the controls are slightly smaller than the arcade, but that was to be expected. All in all, this is a quality product and a LOT of fun to play with friends and family who like the Golden Tee arcade. For the price I paid, I couldn't be happier. In fact, I sent one home with my father in law last weekend because he enjoyed it so much and I've already purchased another one. For those who were hesitant like I was, go for it!

Had fun playing - But wouldn't purchase online again
I ordered 1 as a gift and 1 for our home. I was SUPER impressed with the delivery of the game - I still am amazed at how fast it was received at both residences - in 2 different states. We both received it - the NEXT day w/o having to pay for next day. The excitement wore off in 5 days - after playing with my husband - 4 times - the unit stopped working correctly. Had to keep restarting it, we'd complete 1 hole and go to next- glide hand over ball - screen goes black. We gave up after 5 tries and on different courses. Let is rest a day - but same thing happened. The gift unit had to be returned as they already had the game. It was returned within 3 days - never opened etc. I understand I would have to pay return shipping but I can not figure out how it was calculated? I'm getting a total refund of 36% of the purchase price - all the rest went to returning shipping - even with 20% restock - it still doesn't calculate. When it did work, we enjoyed playing.

Its a fun game, except one thing...
The Golden Tee Golf game after unpacking and loading the batteries took a few minutes to figure out. Once the track ball was calibrated it was a similar experience to the machine you see in bars. For those who are disappointed because it isn't equal to the performance of the real thing are forgetting one thing. The price of this toy comes to $33. If you want the real thing, it is on sale at Amazon. You can get the same game experience for $4590.00!! Thats the 2009 version and that only comes with the the console and not the monitor. If you want it all, you can find it on line for close to $8000 dollars. So lets compare a $33 dollar version to a $4590 dollar version. Sure you don't get the graphics, you don't get the "fly by", you don't get the multitude of courses (this game has only three), the many different choices of player appearance (you can select male or female only), the action of the hit, its missing the "bite" (this game has only roll or backspin) etc. The only thing I don't like is an odd one it comments "Does you husband play?" This happens if your beyond the "double bogey" attempt on a hole. That comment doesn't equate to all people playing this game. They could of come up with a universal insult instead. Other than that I recommend this toy. Just understand you get what you pay for. Could they have come up with a much more advanced version, yes absolutely. Im sure, because the bar arcade version can cost you $4.00 per person per 18 hole play, thats $16 dollars for four players playing. If you play this arcade version with 4 players twice, you've basically paid for the cost of this unit. If they made lets say a $120.00 Xbox style version you plug in and play at home with the same exact experience as the bar version, the company would be losing alot money like those $16 dollar sales. I think they lisenced out as much as thay could to give you, for a home experience. Id say you get a 16 bit experience in this unit and for the money you spend for this unit compared to the real machine you are getting more than 95% of the experience of the bar version.

Fun family and friends game.
I read the reviews and bought it expecting poor graphics and play. Out of the box it took 5 minutes to set up. You will need a philips screwdriver for the battery door (4 AA need) which I thought was odd. Once it was connected and the trackball was synched it was fun play. Yes the graphics are not the same as the current Golden Tee, think more Golden Tee 1 or 2 when it first came out. But for the price, having 3 courses to select from as well as skins etc was fun. The trackball worked great, was not 'cheap' or flimsy in anyway. We could select spins as well as curve the ball without any issue. This is an amazing game for everyone especially at this price. I would recommend it to anyone.

Misguided on the condition
I was definitely misguided on the condition of the product, thus I will not order from this person/business again. The ball has scratches and scuffs all of it. The start select button gets stuck. Seems like the screen is fuzzy. Not sure if that is because it is an older game or what, but I am not too impressed. Love the playing the actual game though.

Awesome Game- Great Price, Tons of Fun
Pretty awesome game- track ball is very responsive and the general speed of the game with regards to loading and responsiveness to pushing the buttons is outstandings. Graphics are so-so but to be expected and does not affect game play at all. Have only played this by myself for a couple days but can see this being a hit with my friends. The only odd thing are that some of the commentary is strange. For example if you hit a bad shot it will sometimes say "does your husband play golf", which I would assume is some type of gay reference made by a Chinese developer that again is very out of play. Regardless, 3 courses, up to 4 players, and tons of fun. For the price you cannot go wrong.

Good home version
Pretty good home version. Graphics are lacking and ball controller is not the best, but it's a good way to kill a few hours with friends.
