And although this kit could benefit from certain enhancements such as engine and cockpit upgrades, Hasegawa got the general lines of the aircraft right, and it represents the F6F very well indeed. The best part for me was the ability to build either an earlier -3 or later -5, as parts and decals are available for both. This gives modelers the ability to decide for themselves which aircraft to build after doing some research, and not be stuck with the incorrect version if they happen to change their mind along the way. All in all an exquisitely detailed and well-molded model airplane that even 40+ years after it's introduction still holds up very well when compared to the more currently engineered kits in this scale from Trumpeter. The blue camo scheme looks great once I had it done. There were three or four places that I had to clean on the flash. The two parts that function as the push rod tubes are very fragile. Broke two of them while trying to remove them from the sprue.
