Review: Reliable crackle free simple and solid split switch - Lovely simple little audio splitter. I use this in a simple studio monitoring setup to select audio output (from my computer) to either speakers or headphones. Before this one, I've had to replace lots of such switch boxes over the years. Some of them looked a lot cooler. However, this one actually works properly and keeps going. The volume switch is crystal clear although it is a little bit all-or-nothing. Satisfying push button for channel switch and another for mute. Never any crackle or pops. You can probably get cheaper versions of this, but honestly, why bother? - they're crap. Buy this one instead :)

Plug both mixers into the back of it using 3.5mm jacks and then one 3.5mm jack out of the front into the speakers. Sorted. Works great - first time. No problem. Has a built in volume control which is handy so I don't have to turn to the mixer. Sound quality is good - no discernible interference or reduction in audio quality when playing. Unit is robust - made from steel and has a solid quality about it. Happy purchase.

Although all inputs say in and out, it wouldn't let me plug input and output on the back, I had to use the front and back ports, it works without no noticeable loss of audio, the only criticism I have is I wish the volume control was a bit more sensitive as it can go from off to a bit above what I want as it seems to lack the stages, so it seems 0 to 15% instead of being sentive to every increment. (I'm being fussy) I believe this device will work flawlessly for most people, great buy, very happy!
