## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this have a safety seal under the lid? Mine arrived leaking with no seal- curious if it's a previous return? Box was slighly damaged on arrival.**
A: I don't remember it having a safty seal.

**Q: Do you have to add fixative to the painting afterward?**
A: There is no requirement to apply fixative to a finished watercolor whether it is simply on paper or the watercolor applied to the QoR Watercolor Ground. Application of any fixative or varnishes to a dried paint layer sometimes results in a slight darkening or enriching of colors.  If an artist applies any clear coat material for protection or consolidation of the image it is recommended that they make a test of the colors in question on the same substrate as an experiment to observe any changes that occur to the finished piece. Typically finished watercolors are presented framed and under glass for protection.

**Q: Can I use this to cover graphite, then paint water color and have graphite show through? I don't want it to disolve the graphite. I want to protect it**
A: I would use clear watercolor ground because you don't want to cover up your graphite. I know Daniel Smith makes clear. QoR/Golden might also make a clear version.

**Q: Can you apply a wax sealant over it to frame without glass?**
A: I have found that a wax sealant sometimes smears the watercolors. I personally don't use it.
