This is ruin your down jacket! The product will clump the down making the insulation uses. Down jackets aren't water proof by nature anyways. This product use made for outerwear shells. Best DWR on the market is used properly. **Q: Can i use this on huge american cotton flag. i live in oregon and want to protect better.** A: It will make the flag water proof, but won't protect it from UV damage **Q: How many ounces should I use per wash** A: It is kind of complex, but here you go. For top load machines, 10 fl oz., max of 3 garments. For a Front loader, 3 fl oz / garment, max of 2 per cycle. for hand wash, 1 garment, 2 fl oz. Very good results thank you. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by C***S on 1 June 2024* This is a good product, and easy to use. You do need to do a couple of extra steps to make it bond better. The same as with any and every wash in. After you wash your clothing or pack or tarp, use a couple extra rinses. Then maybe do a couple more, or even just the machine itself. Almost every washer has a small amount of water pooled in it from the last wash. You want to ensure that there is no detergent residue left in the machine or it will make the product less effective. Use a soak cycle if your machine has it, and also if there is an option, lower than normal water level. Just enough to cover your items being treated. A single rinse. Then machine dry on medium if your items can handle it.
