Will heavy coats be a problem?** A: I bought this 2 years ago and mounted it to wallboard with a good fastener. We use it every day to hang mostly coats and jackets. It finally broke last night when we hung several winter coats and a couple of jackets. The two holes in the back are two metal strips each with a hole. This strips are then attached to the back of the hanger each with two small screws. In this case the failure occured when the small screws pulled out of the back of the hanger on one side. I don't think it can be fixed. I know, I probably put too much weight on it but it was much less than 20 pounds. I'd guess somewhere around 15 pounds. To reiterate, The connection to the wall did not fail, the hanger itself failed. **Q: Would the hooks be appropriate for hanging keys as well?** A: Hello and thank you for your enquiry. This set of hooks is designed to take a greater weight and stick hooks are quite thick and a standard key ring of 25mm diameter does not fit but the larger ring sizes do.
