And besides it is a pretty low stool **Q: Is this stool 100% cedar ?** A: I am not able to ID the type of wood used, but it is neither oak, ash, pine, or walnut. It may indeed be cedar as mentioned in the listing. It is solid and the base is the same wood type as the seat. It was not as heavy as I expected it to be. The seat has the live edge on all but one side which appears to have been sawed to make it somewhat straight maybe to fit against a wall. This often does not show in photos.
