This blanket surpasses the old one and now we both fight over it because it's so soft! I have run it through the wash multiple times and have not had an issue with it at all. I will note that I washed my blanket separately for the first wash to make sure I did not get blue lint on other laundry. I use Tide HE detergent and no fabric softener and the blanket is still super comfortable after five washes.The blanket is very lightweight and I use it mostly while I am on the couch watching TV with my dog.
