It's extremely fine and dusty. Unless you squeeze out all of the water properly, it makes the cage very damp and cold. I removed it within a day and tossed it. **Q: Is it good for leopard geckos?** A: Yes, if you either keep it dry or let it dry out completely (spread it out in thin layer) after getting wet. Leo's need about 40% humidity and this stuff can easily make humidity too high if its allowed to stay wet/damp. I use it for my leo. **Q: Is it good for a Naturalistic bioactive reptile setup?** A: Yes my bearded dragons do really well with it. You can also soak it in water and let it triple in size. It then helps hold moisture for you animals to have humidity. It's the most affordable way and easy to clean. **Q: would this work for a giant marine toad?** A: Hi! We appreciate you writing to us. I bought thinking I would use the entire brick but when I fluffed it, half was all I need for my crested gecko enclosure.
