Review: 物語の最後そして始まり - ナルニア国をめぐるお話も本巻で最後です。物語はおサルとロバがアスランの名を騙ってナルニアの国民に圧政を敷くところから始まります。ナルニア国民はもう何年もアスランの姿を見ていない為、おサルの口車に容易に騙されてしまいます。可笑しいのは騙しているおサルが皆に「皆が自分のことをおサルに見えるといっているが自分は年を取りすぎた人間だ。」と頭には王冠のようなものをかぶり、だぼだぼの洋服を着た姿で主張するところです。権力者の馬鹿さ加減と民衆の愚かさを描いているように感じたのは私だけだったでしょうか。 小人達が「もう王様はいらない。小人は小人のために「」とティリアン王の側に着こうとしなかった点でもそのように感じられました。 さて途中でナルニアのかつての王、王女達がイギリスから現れるのですが、その時の描写が暗示していたことが最後の最後に現実のものであることが分かります。 そして物語は終わりのない世界での新しい物語への始まりで終わります。 作者の最終巻への思い入れの強さからか描写がくどく重く感じるかもしれませんが、今までの全ての巻を振り返るような鷹揚さで読み進まれるのが良いのではないかと思いました。
