I use them on 4 gallon plastic drinking water carboys. Granted - the full carboys only weigh about 40 pounds, but still - being elderly - the full carboys are plenty heavy to carry. But by installing this handle, it becomes a much easier job. It was a bit of struggle to install the handle on the carboy but that is a one-time issue. and i attribute the struggle to the intense sturdiness of the construction of the handle. these handles are STURDY to the max !
