I let the solution set for about two minutes and then took a Scotch Bright green cleaning pad and scrubbed the surface. I'm not sure that it softened the surface but it did clean it. **Q: Can it be used to blow out and clean small diameter rubber drain tubing, such as the rubber tubing used in car moonroof drain tubing?** A: It won't hurt to try, but I'd try brake cleaner first. It's much less expensive and any auto parts store has it on hand.
