It is a crystal of Potassium Alum. This is a double sulfate of both aluminum and potassium. This is a natural substance used for thousands of years as an antiseptic, as well as for fasting dies in cloth. This is not the same thing as aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrate found in antiperspirant. Potassium Alum is anti bacterial, which can suppress the organisms that make the body odor. It dissolves readily in water so it is great just out of the shower when you are still wet/damp. It's also slightly styptic, so some people use it to stop bleeding from minor cuts. Anhydrous Aluminum sulfate is a better styptic, and closely related to Potassium Alum. **Q: Is it effective for man ?! Tks** A: It can be. It kind of depends on the person. Some people find it works really well, and other less so. I'm a big dude and it worked for me. But other natural perfume based deodorants are my more recent preference. **Q: Is it refillable?** A: No. It's just a tube with the salt crystal. Once you finish it in about 2 years you buy a whole new one.
