I was also inspired to start again by watching a performance by the English Baroque Soloists of the Bach Easter Oratorio at the BBC proms last year (2013) where there is a beautiful part for two recorders) I have all three of the "Recorder from the Beginning" books for descant recorder. They were written for children which is great because when it comes to music I'm a 65 year old child. Make sure you get the versions with the cd. The cd is most helpful especially if like me you have trouble figuring out the rhythm and beat. On the cd each tune is played first by a solo recorder and then twice with a backing track - really instructive, entertaining and encouraging. And now I can read a bit of music, which is very satisfying. I highly recommend these books. After a couple of months of regular practice I've improved from gruesome to awful, but that is not the fault of these excellent books.
