When I get one for my living room, the date will have a light to be readable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works fairly well for our needs... *by G***H on 12 January 2013* I purchased this clock for my mother-in-law who has dementia and lives with us. I purchased it to help her keep track of the day of the week and the date. It's obvious that the time is easy to read because of its size. The date and day are just a little bit of a challenge for her to read in lower light. She sits about eight feet from it and if the lighting in the room is good, she can make it out pretty well. If the lighting isn't fairly bright, she can't quite read it. It would be nice if the LED numbers and letters were brighter, but that's probably a different type of LED lighting. I would have purchased one of those blue digital wall clocks, but they are so bright during the night, that I was concerned it would light up the whole room and disturb her sleep. All in all, I do recommend this clock because with adequate light in the room it can be read by an elderly person.
