This is my first time driving either, and I haven't broken one yet, which means they must be pretty robust ;) Can certainly gulp some current and heat sink gets hot to the touch when driving a stepper.Now, they include a 5V regulator for higher voltage inputs so, from a single power source, you can totally power your arduino off of this at the same time as driving some crazy 35V motor or something - that is just plain convenient!
