They are leak-proof, you can wash them in the dishwasher, my kids and I have knocked them over several times & they have not broken. The only thing i wish is that they came in different colors for each of us to identify easier & that they were flip tops to make drinking quicker & easier but still excellent quality.Update Dec 2019 : one of the lids is messed up on husband's bottle. He said it's been like that since he got it. When trying to take it off, it just spins. It's hard to take off. You have to try to take it off almost like a medicine bottle. But all glass bottles still intact.Update may 2021:Every single lid has separated from the inside piece. I've super glued one of them but it still came apart again.
