Downside is if you want the temp at 75 and the humidity at 50%, and the humidity rises above 50%, the fan would kick in, which would ultimately drop the temp and humidity at the same time. **Q: What parts of this are metal and how much heat can it handle** A: You can set the high temperature operation on the controller, if the set temperature is 86℉ and the room is over 86℉, the fan will start to run, the controller will control the speed of the fan according to the temperature of the room, the fan Airflow: 370 CFM **Q: Would it work to install this fan through the house wall so that I can bring the cool, outdoor evening air indoors without having the windows open.** A: You can do this.But ,I do not recommend bringing out door air directly into the house, it has to be conditioned first and its often better to just recirculate air.
