It is a touchscreen. And it connects directly with the rower. You can output via HDMI to a second screen. But you can not input (like from an Apple TV or Blu-Ray player). The monitor starts up and loads directly into iFit. This happens whether you have a subscription or not. The monitor still has some features without a subscription. To try to do anything to it requires you to unscrew the whole thing and void the warranty. I got an Ipad holder and connected it to the rower. I row in manual mode (no live trainer) and watch videos on the Ipad. **Q: Can you use headphones with this?** A: Yes. There is a headphone jack for wired earbuds. No Bluetooth support. I did buy a thirty dollar Bluetooth transmitter to plug into headphone jack so that I can use with Bluetooth wireless earbuds. **Q: Where is this rower made?** A: I actually tried to Google that. It appears that a lot of it is made in China. I just got done shipping it back. others have had luck with it but there’s also been numerous others with issues. I settled on the concept2 with no TV. I’ts been around a while and solid as a rock. I had nothing but a headache with Nordic and icon customer service was less than helpful. They were more than happy to send me any parts that I might need but expected me to be the repair technician. I would just make sure you read all the reviews you can find before making a decision. Video demonstrates the issue I was having right out of the box. I’ve had mine for 2 weeks now and I love it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Get in Shape really works *by J***Y on Reviewed in Canada on 3 March 2022* After 3 weeks of following Nicole Vogel 12 set beginner series followed by Hanna Eden beginner, I have lost 8 pounds. More importantly than the weight, its the muffin top that has gone down, and seeing ab definition. Added to the routine, eating salads with homemade, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar a dash of salt and pepper, fish 2 x a week, chicken 3 a week, red meat 1 a week and a cheat day, (still have those cravings) this low impact on the body, (if you row correctly) has done amazing. Having a visual person guiding you through the work outs is huge. I know some on here have not had success. Like anything you must follow the proper technique, do this at least 3 times a week, eat habits change, (no junk food, fast food, sugary foods) you will see results. If I don't row at least 10 minutes a day, I feel sluggish. Added to the row work outs, I follow that with beginner yoga. The row work out warm down stretch is very much like yoga, however, following a yoga instructor for 10 to 15 minutes works wonders for the recovery. If I was to say anything negative, it would be there is never any live instructors. Not sure what I get for the monthly membership, will be calling to find out. The RW900 with the big screen is well worth the upgrade price. And to add to this, I am 56 and looking like I did when I was 26.
