Review: The Best MR11-Size L.E.D. Bulbs - These are the best MR-11 size L.E.D. bulbs I have ever seen, and I have tried quite a few of the disappointing competitors. Many people are familiar with the fairly common "MR-16" size bulb, but the far less common, and much smaller, 'MR-11" size bulbs are an unusual specialty item made for miniature and task-specific light fixtures. such as framed artwork light fixtures. These bulbs are just perfect. They are dramatically better than competing bulbs. The problems I have encountered with previously-purchased MR-11 L.E.D. bulbs were: * The angle of light dispersion was too narrow (they produced a "spot" rather than a wide "flood" of light) * The brightness of the bulb was insufficient (they simply did not produce enough light) * The "color temperature" of the light was an unpleasant blue-white of 3,500 to 6,000 Degrees Kelvin These bulbs are perfect, because: * They offer a wide angle of light dispersion, a wide flood of light * They are impressively bright for their small size, providing ample light * The color temperature is a pleasant amber-white, like an old style incandescent bulb (2,800 to 3,000 Degrees Kelvin) Combine all that with the fact that these L.E.D. bulbs draw less power than a standard tiny nightlight bulb, and they are rated to last for tens of thousands of hours, and you have the "perfect" L.E.D. light bulb in the not-so-easy-to-find specialty size of "MR-11". I'm using two of them in wall-mounted framed artwork light fixtures, and I leave them on 24-hours-a-day.
Review: Much dimmer than a halogen bulb - I bought these bulbs to replace the stock 20W halogen bulbs that came with my range hood. I'm a big LED enthusiast--all of the recessed lights and undercabinet lighting in my kitchen are LED. So, I was eager to see how these bulbs would fare as a replacement for halogen. Unfortunately, their brightness does not compare favorably. I own a light meter, and at 12" from the bulb, these lights produce only a third of the illumination of the halogens they replaced, probably in part because the light is less focused. I read the other reviews noting these bulbs were slightly dimmer than halogens, but didn't expect them to produce less than half as much light. I'm using them for now, and will squint to see the food I'm cooking until a better LED option comes out.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Best MR11-Size L.E.D. Bulbs

### ⭐⭐ Much dimmer than a halogen bulb
*by O***7 on May 1, 2013*

### ⭐⭐⭐ Slightly odd fit
*by K***K on June 17, 2014*

The light that this bulb produces is great. No complaints there. It is a nice warm white color as stated. My one complaint is the way that the LEDs protrude from the front of the bulb ans how the leads are exposed. I replaced some MR11 halogen bulbs in a range hood. The bulbs are held in by a metal lip around the perimeter of the bulb. Naturally the lip is a slightly smaller diameter than the bulb so the bulb won't fall out. The problem I have is that this lip ends up contacting some of the exposed leads on the bulb, thus shorting out some of the individual LEDs on the bulb. With a little jiggling I can sometimes get this problem solved, but it only seems to work for a short time before it settles back down and some of the LEDs end up getting shorted out again. I may get around to trying to cut a thin clear plastic shim to stick between the metal lip and the bulb.
