Though what’s known as “through-zero” flange is tough to achieve, especially in an analog setting, the Spectre allows players to transition through the zero point, and in the process create a myriad of fantastic flange-base effects, and chorus and vibrato as well. Although each switch and knob reports to a tiny digital brain, the guitar signal generated with this pedal stays 100% analog, satisfying audiophiles and diehards everywhere. There’s nowhere near enough space to explain the expanse of sounds this pedal can create between its six dedicated knobs, three three-way switches, and 16 dip switches, but the names of each control are aptly titled, alluding to a massive range of possibilities. Of course, the extremely detailed owner’s manual always helps.Mix – When no dip switches are assigned for ramping, this knob functions as the flange’s wet/dry control.Zero – As it sounds. Sets the manual delay time on the flange effect.Regen – Controls intensity of the effect from subtle chorus to the point of self-oscillation.RPM – Controls the rate.
