There are warning label on the treadmill and in the manual stating “no bare feet” sneakers required. Too many pinch points between the slats. **Q: can I use this treadmill without using the display console? Do I have to install it?** A: Sky, Yes, it can be used without the display console and no, you do not have to install it in order to use the treadmill. Feedback?** A: Hi, The flexible slats absorb a lot of shock which should be good for you ankles knees hips and back. It’s the only treadmill I personally can run on and not have to go see the chiropractor. I have a CT400 in my gym for my members and for myself. If you’re walking I’d recommend it. I hope this was helpful Chad- SB Fitness Equipment/Owner **Q: My shoe sometimes gets caught while running, why?** A: Most likely because the slats are flexible. If you tighten the rear bolts, clockwise evenly on both sides through the access holes provided using the Allen wrench that will tighten the belt a little bit, which will help the slats not to flex quite as much. It could also be the type of shoes you were wearing, depending on the tread of the shoes. Less tread the better. When tightening the belt you must make sure you turn both bolts exactly the same on both sides so it does not become uneven and I would not do more than three whole revolutions per side at a time and test it out and no more than 10 full turns each side as you don't to put too much stress on the belt. So bottom line: Great product and excellent customer service. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Challenging workout *by A***A on September 16, 2024* The treadmill shipped fairly fast and was delivered with a scheduled FedEx delivery truck. The driver was kind enough to wheel it up our short driveway next to my garage. Packaging was excellent. No damaged or missing parts. The only parts to put together were the handlebars and the simple screen. My husband and I were able to carry the bottom inside together fairly easily and setup from there only took about 20 minutes. I have never used a manual treadmill before this one so I have nothing to compare it to. That said, this treadmill operates smoothly. It took a couple of workouts to get used to it before I could walk or jog without holding the handlebars. Right from the start, I noticed it was increasing my heart rate more than my electric treadmill so it's a much more challenging and worthwhile treadmill. It definitely works the calve muscles. So far the longest I've done is 2 miles. I used to walk/jog 3 miles daily on my electric treadmill so I'm hoping to work back up to that on this manual. The CT400 is very similar in width and length to my electric treadmill though I believe my electric treadmill is a thinner option on the market. I don't know that this manual treadmill is quieter than an electric treadmill. I don't pay attention to sound when I'm on it and no one else in my household uses it. I'm looking forward to being able to use the ct400 year round as I have it placed on my three season porch and live in the northern Midwest.
