It plays well, and I get nice sustain on even the highest notes. the frets are level; no buzzing! seems durable, the moulded plastic back is fit well to the spruce (?) top.
Review: Poor craftsmanship or terrible shipping service? - It was received half assembled and the corners of the instrument were busted. I was so excited to finally purchase one until it arrived. Very disappointed.

The instrument is made of of maple and white wood. Body canted with valuable species of timber. Pegs mechanics belongs to an open type.

For the price, this balalaika has a surprisingly good sound. The back is molded plastic, like those Gibson guitars which sound pretty good. It sustains the notes really well. It's solidly constructed, doesn't feel cheap. Don't hesitate to buy this one. It's a good deal.
