It is very realistic, was easy to assemble, but it did take me a long time to fluff to get it just right. I wish I had timed it, but conservatively I would estimate that it took 2 - 3 hour to set up from start to finish. I have a ton of ornaments and there is still plenty of room for more. The branches are very sturdy. It's a great tree for a more vintage aesthetic. It took four strands of 18 foot popcorn garland to cover. I did have to rearrange my living room to fit it, because my old tree had removable branches and I used to leave a few off in the back to get it to fit in the usual spot. So keep in mind that these branches are permanently attached and fold down. I got a phenomenal deal because the box was damaged. Comparable to Balsam Hill trees sell for $1300.00+.
