The metal part that runs the length of them bends easily when needed but is also stiff enough to use pressure when washing. 6. No one is the household confuses these with the toilet brush! Lol! It has been fairly durable, especially compared to some of the options we have used previously from Target and Walmart. We appreciate the wide rage of sizes and options so that we can clean each different bottle or part adequately. We also like the feature that the base serves as a water catcher and can be easily dumped in the sink to clean out. The only reason for the 4-stars is because a couple of the brushes have come loose or complete detached at the point where the metal stem connects to the plastic handle.
