Inside of this there were several, still cold, ice packs. It was so well-packed and insulated that it took quite some time to eventually reach the two loaves of mozzarella. I might add, we are in the middle of a heat wave, making the still cool loaves of cheese even more impressive. I have never received a food item from Amazom that was this well packed. Now, on to the cheese itself. There were two large loaves of Mozzarella, tightly vacuum-packed.. As soon as I opened one of the loaves, I received the unmistakeable aroma of a rich, milky, and refined, high- quality Mozzarella. I cut some of the outer layer of cheese away, to be able to conduct a reliable taste test upon the well-protected center of the loaf. Again, the aroma was quite noticeable as being that of a very good Mozzarella. I tasted a thin sliver of the cheese, after first warming it in my hands. This procedure would allow for maximum release of flavor. I had not really expected that much from this cheese, being a strong proponent of the Italian version made with buffalo milk. However, the first taste immediately reminded me of the taste, texture, and richness of a top-flight Mozzarella.. Unlike other cheap !ozzarella loaves, this cheese had all of the attributes of the pricey Italian varieties, sold in the liquid from the Mozzarella-making process. This cheese is a lovely melting Mozzarella, remaining soft and tender when melted. Unlike other cheaper brands, it was not akin to eating strands of elastic when melted. I have rarely enjoyed such a richness of taste, the incredible milky aroma, and the lovely texture that this Mozarella provides. My review may sound excessive, but Mozzarella this good, and at an affordable price point, deserves much more praise than anything that I have written here. I decided to take the risk and order this unknown brand, after being completely turned-off one time too many by the dry, tough, and flavorless offerings of grocery store Mozzarella loaves. BUT- I put it thru meat grinder- put part in a ziplock to freeze then I made 5 large pizzas. The true test is how it bakes. It puffed a little, did NOT make puddles of grease and water. I let mine toast brown in spots. Then I cut and pulled a piece out. I got stretch and snap. Then I chomped into a piece and the texture was full and chewy, NOT slimey soft like cheap brands and a leading brand I can't mention. The taste was really good with a hint of tart. This is great mozzarella for the price. Im going to make lasagna next with homemade noodles. Store-bought cheeses are so cheap anymore. All the milk solids are removed and replaced with cellulose, water, starch, fillers and its not cheese anymore, just slices goo. This is worth eating. I WILL buy it again bc I want milk product- not fillers and oils. How is it packed for shipment ?** A: Mine was packaged with two ice packs and wrapped in foil and an insulated bag.
