**Q: what do these look like without lid on?**
A: Like a bowl without a lid.

**Q: Are these oven safe ?**
A: Yes. These are oven and microwave safe.  No stove top and no broiler.

**Q: What do these bowls measure?  I see '4 quarts', but how tall are they and what is the diameter at the lip?**
A: 10" wide at the lip, 5 and 1/8" high.  If I had a do-over, I'd get stainless steel bowls that are a bit taller and a bit narrower due to their lighter weight. (the ones with a silicone-coated non-slide bottom)

**Q: What are the dimensions of the bowl? Diameter at the rim, height?**
A: Measuring from outside the rim, the bowl is 10 inches wide; inside 9.5 inches. It is a more than 5 inches high. In case you are interested the base is 5.5 inches wide on the inside. Hope this helps.
