Review: Really happy with it. - It is not too heavy to hold up when drilling smaller holes at awkward positions, quite light really. OK, it’s not the most powerful drill in the world, but if want to drill small holes you do not need a massive drill. So, for me, it was perfect for when I ddi not need my corded drill, and also far more convenient. No need for extension cables etc. It made very very light work of hammer drilling 4 5mm holes into an outside wall to mount 2 solar powered lights with PIR sensors so my balcony is lit up in the dark when I go onto it in the dark/winter. (Good quality masonry drill bits also helped a lot!) this is what bought it for. Then turn it from hammer drill down to power setting one, and it screwed the screws into the plugs without effort, without overdoing it. I could have paid someone to do the work, and not bought this, but that would have probably cost twice as much, and not left me with a nice little cordless drill. I will take it to work. It will probably spent the rest of its life undoing screws that hold bits of trim and the like onto cars. As a side note is is not brushless. Bought to do one job. And it did it effortlessly. The rest is a bonus. DOWNSIDE. I fully charged the battery on the day it arrived. I drilled 4 holes. To mount the lights mentioned, and then put it to one side for 4 days. I liked it so much I bought a second battery, so that I can just swop them at work, and carry on. Day 5 I went to use it and the battery was flat. After under 10 minutes of use on a fully charged battery. Put the second battery in, and it worked. So I plugged the flat battery into the charger, and ‘red flashing light’ on charger. IE battery defective. The battery that came with it, that I have had for under 10 days. Unplugged the charger and removed the battery, and tried again. Same result. The battery lasted under 10 days, and under 10 minutes of use. Put the spare battery into the charger, green light. Charger is working, drill is working. I know I only really bought it to do one job, and that it did that job. I did not expect the battery to only do that one job, and stop working almost instantly after it was done. I going to assume I received a defective battery in the case with the drill. So I put in a return request, and bought it again. Have paid for the second battery, and i did like the drill, lets hope i was just unlucky. Update: the second one arrived over a week ago, and has caused no problems. I got a full refund from desertcart for the first defective one.
Review: Very impressed with this little cordless screwdriver - After using my (tradesman) father-in-laws makita drill/screwdriver, I wondered how I ever lived without one. But while I do hobby woodwork, and DIY, I couldn't justify paying the kind of money for the pro makita set up that I'd become accustomed to. I had to get a cheap one, but I didn't want a shonky cheap unrecognisable brand from china that's poor quality. Black and decker aren't what they used to be, but it is still a quality item. Before buying I looked at and compared the specs of the black and decker to that of my FIL's (200 quid) makita, and they weren't far off, the makita has 42nm of torque and the Black and decker has 40nm. Both 18v. Pro Makita has fast charger and the battery is around 3Ah or 4Ah, while the black and decker is 1.5Ah, and so is the charger. So it takes longer to charge, like 4 hours, but remember this is a DIY/hobbyists tool, not a tradesman's tool, and you won't likely require fast charging times of a tradie on the job that cant continue work and is under pressure (you can buy a fast charger but its another 30 or 40 quid). I bought a second battery, a knock-off Chinese one, it works great, but the plastic clips and release button feel really cheap and brittle. It'll do for when my B&D battery is charging though, and after feeling the quality of the unbranded battery, it reassured me that I'd got good quality for a cheap enough price with the black and decker. The black and decker's performance during use, plus its comparison to it's cheaper alternatives, really impressed me. It punches above its weight for the price. The battery life seems fine. It is very lightweight (without feeling too cheap) and it feels ergonomic. It is comparitively compact compared to expensive pro tools but without being weedy. I'd rather pay £40 for a quality item, than £20 for a poor quality, unreliable tool that let's you down. That's the difference between cheap, and good value.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I think the price is not offer or discounted price**
A: Well, I don't know what price you paid, or intend to pay. The price I paid seemed reasonable but was not discounted

**Q: Does this come with charger?**
A: Yes

**Q: what is the total weight of black+decker 18 v cordless 2-gear combi hammer drill power tool with kitbox, 1.5 ah lithium-ion, bcd700s1k-gb & set access**
A: Don't know but its a very small, very light set. 2 or 3 pounds I'd guess.

**Q: when you stop the drill is it suppose to spark on the inside?**
A: I have not noticed mine doing it. It is not advertised as a drill to use safely in hazardous environments, therefore a negligible spark may occur. Why don't you read the instructions and contact the manufacturer if you have any concerns?
