I have two of these units. I alternate between the two, to charge our lifepo battery pack and to power tools etc. They start great, are very quiet compared to an open frame unit. Neither have given me any issues, both are at 600 hours of run time. I change oil every 50-75 hours with full synthetic. I clean and maintain per the manual. I readjusted valves at 300 hours on both as well as replaced spark plugs. (Both tasks very easy to do) when the time comes to replace I will definitely go back to Champion. Not sure if they sell rebuild kits for the engines but that could be another option. Ring off grid it’s nice having the dual fuel option. I have run low on gas and used propane. Less emissions for from propane but not as efficient as gas for power. I have the 50 am link set up which runs my welder without any issues. Only complaint……. I wish the dual fuel units had remote start. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quiet, reliable and efficient. *by J***M on April 3, 2025* I have owned this generator for 3 years and have put nearly 900 hours on it. The only issues I have had with it were...1: After running it non-stop in 115+degree weather for 7 days while powering my campervan and a friend's pop up tent camper, both running a/c units, the next camping trip the generator failed to start. Turned out to be low oil and a quick oil change fixed the issue. 2: I've only used the gasoline tank once, right after I purchased it and it has remained empty ever since. Last fall I discovered the tank had rusted out and is no longer usable. Not a big deal for me because I run it on propane. Other than that, this generator has been one of the best purchases Ive ever made. It sips fuel. Drains internal battery. (Work arounds include rewire the switch to a panel in vehicle. In meanwhile, run pos/neg wire to its internal battery so it piggy backs off vehilcles solar batteries.Remote Control Dangerous?- one "tap" to the start button and unit begins start sequence (Starts). Problem is the remote is easily triggered when in your pocket with other keys that easily rub up and start unit. Should be a "long press" or a two button combo press. Very dangerous if unit starts up when not intended perhaps if remote in a backpack and something leans against backpack (other bags). Unit may start up and run in its stored state in a gen box, overheat unit it runs out of gas. You come back from the lake and there is the campervan on fire!I see class action lawsuit here, so Champion. If your reading this, reward me by sending me a free replacement unit and a 50 foot 30 amp extension cord.Remote- easily misplaced and lost. Should include two in box.Weight? Okay, its 100lbs. But you get larger engine so its not peaking out all the time.No exhaust extension kit.- At least provide it as an accessory. Should be standardized and in manual.No anchor points on all four upper corners for keeping unit from sliding around. If it had cargo strap anchor points, problem solved. Work around is to attach to the handles which dont provide full slide control and may not fit strap hooks.Bluetooth or WiFi built in and respective app to monitor engine info (temp, hours. Volts, CO2 warnings)No CO2 alarm?Gas Guage:Gas guage is clumsy, mechanical indicator on top, hard to read if slightly titled. Still have to watch inside when filling it with gas.Back Lit instrument Panel:No back light for sockets - have to fumble trying to plug in extension cords into holes which are all black hard to get it in if maneuvering from side when in a gen box.Other colors?I like the yellow/black theme, but hey, why not offer other colors yes there is black, but maybe some custom colors - Pink?
