So I also did some research on getting a new Barlow lens. I was a bit hesitant to use GSO as it is still a bit of a b-brand to me. But I read some of the other reviews and the price is hard to beat. So I decided it was well worth the gamble. And it seems that I won with this bet. First of all, the packaging was done really nicely and it felt like receiving a high-quality product. And you know what, it was. The barlow just is really nice, clear and far better quality than I had expected. Working on my Baader eye-pieces works really well. Especially when adding the cell directly on the eye-piece (and losing the rest of the tube). So if you are looking for a barlow and are tight on budget, feel assured you will get a quality piece with the GSO. If it does, that Barlow will fit. The more important question is, for what use? Do you have 2" lenses already? They are bulkier and mostly have longer focal lengths and lower power. Mostly Barlows are used for higher power lenses, which are mostly 1.25". I use this in my Orion XT8i Intelliscope. Optical quality is quit good especially when you consider the price. Works great with my 2" and 1.25 inch eyepieces. I also use it with my Baader Hyperion 8-24 zoom. Update 9/2018 - Have been using this since 2016 and I love it. I have recently been using the removable 1.5X element attached to the 2" Adapter on my Baader Hyperion Zoom to better match the magnification range for my XT8i. Works great.
