I do know that I have cooked a Thanksgiving Day, 14 pounds which is the maximum capacity stated. No explanation on the temperature. The grilling coils stay hot during the entire cooking process and because of the constant rotation of the cooking items, things cook evenly for the most part. What is the fix?** A: The second generation spit rods are notorious for this. They’re cheaply made inChina. If you’re handy and weld you can weld the spit rod back into it’s place or have it done at a weld shop or auto repair. If you don’t want to do that go to eBay and buy a first edition spit rod assembly. **Q: Can someone tell me how many rpms this thing should produce? Mine only seems to be rotating about 1 1/2 to 2 rpms.** A: I used mine last year. If I have to guess mine has 4 rmps approximately. You can cook chicken legs, thighs, farmer style ribs. All you have to do is put them in the Basket and place the basket on the spit. You can fit about 6 to 8 drumsticks, depending on the size. That’s ok if they’re a little tight. Wash them, trim the excess fat, and place them in the basket. I season them while they’re in the basket. Turn the rotisserie on, set it and forget it...really.
