Looks great and has held up for 2 years. Exceptionally sharp right out of the box. Well-balanced. Comfortable grip. I can chop almost like a professional. Fairly expensive, but it truly is a case of getting what you pay for. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredible workhorse of a knife. *by on Reviewed in the United States May 5, 2026* I absolutely adore this knife, and I would consider this to be the new "workhorse" knife in our kitchen. We have a lot of knives in the block, many of which are more expensive, and allegedly better knives than this, but more often than not, this is the knife that my wife and I reach for the most by far.I have struggled to find a way to articulate why that is, and the best I can come up with is that I think what makes this knife special (and I suppose the other Wusthof knives we own as well), is the fact that it is a well-made knife that is comfortable to use, and most importantly, it manages to keep a useable edge far longer than anything else. If I had the luxury of setting aside time once a week or month or whatever to maintain the edges on the more expensive knives, I am sure they would be a better experience, but the fact of the matter is that we simply do not have the time... I think this is where Wusthof knives shine to be honest. They don't require the extra time and attention to keep them in a useable state as something like some of the other more expense knives we own.I really wish I would have been a bit more honest with myself about what is realistic BEFORE we went out and spent a small fortune over time on knives that are absolutely great, but just don't fit our lifestyle. It's kind of a strange thing because those other great knives are amazing. But the Wusthof is just SO much more forgiving in the kitchen for someone that works fulltime and is always in a hurry to throw dinner together for the family and just doesn't have time to give some of these other knives the time and attention they require to keep a good edge.I doubt we will purchase anything other than Wusthof moving forward. GREAT products. This one in particular is my favorite of them all. My wife and I have had a Wusthof kitchen knife set up for many years and use them daily. We seem to use the 7" Santoku the most. Purchased this Santoku for myself. Now we have two. Much easier when we prep meals together. They are very sharp have a nice balance and gripe. Keep them sharp, hand wash & dry. They come with a lifetime warranty.
