The day after I received it, I started attempting to sprout black beans as the directions listed and at the end of day four I had some amazing sprouted black beans in our family's dinner tonight! I really love this product. It works perfectly and is super easy to clean and store. I would most definitely recommend this to others who are interested in sprouting. I love these jars, and use them constantly. However, I find that they break rather easily. And, I once tried to put super hot water in (for sterilization), and the jar instantly cracked. So now I just scrub them really well and let them air/sun dry. A tip that I use, though is that I actually take the lid apart each time, put the screen and metal outer rim into water, and bring it to a boil to kill any mold or bacteria lurking in the cracks and corners of the screen or lid. I've used them for a long time, as I've not found anything better -- the shape is great, and I haven't had any problems with mold since I started using these jars. When I used Mason jars, I had to rinse super often, and with proper use of these I only have to rinse two or three times a day. The down sides are that when you take apart the lid for cleaning, you can pretty easily cut yourself in the inner edge of the metal rim.
