My journeys tend to be 3-5 hrs three times a week and I prefer to keep the rear light on at all times whilst cycling for obvious safety. Thus I find that it needs recharging every other journey where as the previous Cateye only required charging once a month. I have this light set at the brightest flash.The fitting also works on a round seat post as well as the aero post so that was a useful extra. The main reason for purchase is the side effect of the red light thus showing drivers on a side view a clear confirmation of the back of my bicycle. The light is bright enough to expose the whole of the rear wheel in red light again clearly showing the length of the bicycle.
